Tour Information
Please read the following information and be prepared to select ONE (1) tour upon your arrival at the registration booth. Tour availability is on a first come, first serve basis and all tours are limited to a safe number of vehicles. Registration is open from 7am - 8:30am.
What’s Happening for 2007
Off Roading 101 - this introduction to the wonderful world of off roading will include information on the Tread Lightly philosophy, winching, obstacle crossings and basic survival. After the lecture, participants will have the opportunity to put their skills to the test in a real world environment. Limited to 20 vehicles.
Backus Mills Tour - follow along the shores of Lake Erie to the National Historic Site of Backus Mills. The mill was built in 1798 by John C. Backus and was family owned until 1955. The mill is still in operation today and features a recreation of a village from 1866. Tour includes a trip trough the St. Williams Forestry Farm. Limited to 25 vehicles.
Port Dover Beach / Museum Tour - drive along the Front Rd. seeing first hand the historic villages of Lake Erie and learn of their importance to the future of Ontario. 4WD parade down Main Street in Port Dover to the one of a kind Port Dover Harbor Museum. Participants will learn about the fishing industry, commercial sail, ship wrecks and all other aspects of lakeside life in this unique community. Limited to 25 vehicles.
Off Road Safari - this tour leaves Turkey Point and heads to a private property lot near the Nanticoke Industrial Park. Off Road experience is an asset when you take on this challenge. Multiple river crossings, off camber situations, rock garden and a plethora of man made surprises will get your blood pumping and test your vehicle to the limits. By passes are available for the faint of heart. Limited to 30 vehicles.
